Steps you’ll be supported to take

  • Our attention may be the greatest resource we have for repairing ourselves and the world. We’ll value pausing and resting not as an indulgence, but as a transformative power, bestowing fresh energy and insights. When we slow down, we become aware of how we give our time and attention to what is or isn’t life-nourishing, giving us the opportunity to be more intentional about where we want to align in the next moment.

  • Thinking, reasoning, and talking only get us so far. By shifting our energy out of the head and into the body, we’ll access a different, more ancient intelligence. We’ll begin to listen to our body’s intuition and learn to distinguish it from old, conditioned responses that no longer serve us. Through the wisdom of the body, we’ll open ourselves to the truth of an unobstructed heart.

  • The work of healing is to make ourselves whole, not perfect. Whole means that we include all of ourselves, no parts left out. Rather than trying to eliminate sources of frustration or pain, we’ll seek to develop humor, equanimity, and tenderness toward the parts of ourselves that are difficult to like or love. We’ll cultivate curiosity about these, trusting they serve a purpose. Transformation begins not with a “to-do” list, but with the gentle embrace of a warm, open heart.

  • We can work for a better world, but we can’t control what happens. To sustain our efforts over the long-term, especially through cycles of perceived defeat, we can develop an internal stability for meeting uncertainty and actually be nourished by the uncertainty inherent in our lives. Guided by humility, curiosity, and practice, we’ll lean into the vulnerability of not having all the answers, allowing a deeper wisdom to arise.

  • Our individual wellness, healing, and wholeness are not separate from the health and vitality of our human and more-than-human communities and the earth. As our inner capacity and clarity grow, we’ll harness these resources to become more fierce and fearless advocates for justice, truth, and love. Growing care and compassion for ourselves isn’t a detour; it’s the path by which we’ll find the sustaining energy and resilience to pursue the caring and equitable world that we know all future life depends on.
